News 12 had the only camera outside of Woodbury Town Court Monday night after the reckless driving ticket against Chaim Gordon was dropped due to a filing error, according to Orange County District Attorney Dave Hoovler.

Hoovler said state police charged Gordon with reckless driving by mistake after he caused a head-on crash on Route 6 in 2022 that killed 62-year-old Iksong Jin, of Monticello.

Prosecutors say Gordon was driving when he lost control of his Ford Explorer while speeding, crossed the double yellow line and injured four others in his vehicle as well.

State police confirmed to News 12 that Grand Rabbi David Twersky was a passenger in a third vehicle at the scene of the crash, a 2020 Cadillac. The district attorney's office previously said Twersky was a passenger in the Ford Explorer, driven by Gordon, that caused the crash.

Gordon was ticketed after a year-long criminal investigation.

He now faces five traffic tickets for speeding, passing on the right, driving to the left of pavement markings, moving from lane unsafely and driving across hazardous markings, according to authorities.

Chaim is next due in Woodbury Town Court Aug. 23.

New York State Police said they had no comment on the matter.
