Ulster County Agricultural Society Board Member Jamie Churchill joined News 12 this morning to talk about a new sensory safe space so everyone can still have a blast.

Families who have children with autism or sensory sensitivities can go to this space to be away from bright lights, noise and crowds.

The room will feature bubble tubes, touch-and-feel books about animals and noise-canceling headphones.

The Ulster County Fair runs from Aug. 1 through Aug. 6.  The sensory safe space will be open during the entire stretch of the Fair from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The fair is taking it one step further by hosting special sensory hours daily between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. when there will be no rides running.
