Residents of Clarendon Place in Greenburgh are urging local officials to complete a three-phased project that aims to address persistent flooding issues in their neighborhood.

The residents of Clarendon Place have been dealing with recurring flooding issues on their street and are calling for the town to make good on its promise to implement a three-phase plan to combat the problem.

According to local resident Robert DiLorenzo, the first phase of the project, dredging the brook, has been carried out and had provided temporary relief. However, he added that the town has not followed through with the remaining phases.

"The second one was diverting water. The aquaphors that run perpendicular into the troublesome brook, which we see that water is still coming and the third phase was to make smaller diameter pipes," explained DiLorenzo.

Residents now suspect that a blocked pipe connected to a storm drain running beneath one neighbor's home is causing the continued flooding, especially following the most recent bout of rain.

In response to the residents' concerns, Town Supervisor Paul Feiner has reached out to their Deputy Commissioner of Public Works to discuss possible solutions to the blocked pipe issue.

Feiner confirmed that town employees are slated to begin work on the Clarendon Place pipe tomorrow as part of the ongoing efforts to address the neighborhood's flooding problems.
