Two 14-year-old girls were attacked by an angry mob of at least 25 people as they were walking down Saratoga Avenue.
Both girls were rushed to the hospital after the attack Saturday. First, they managed to identify 11 of the suspects.
Neighbors say that the incident was one of the noisiest the town has heard in quite some time. They say both girls were screaming loudly as they were suddenly attacked by between 25 and 30 angry people.
Police believe the incident started when 23-year-old Shantell Barr had some issues with one of the victims. They say that another group of kids aged 13 to 23 then got involved in the fight, kicking and punching the victims and throwing garbage at them. Detectives say the victims finally managed to escape and called 911.
All of the suspects were found in a Caryle Avenue parking lot, where they were hanging out. They were all taken to a parking garage, where the victims identified them in a lineup.
The two girls were taken to St. Joseph?s Hospital to be treated for cuts and bruises.
All 11 suspects are being held in jail over the weekend. They will be in Yonkers City Court on Monday morning to face a judge.
