2 women wounded as gunfire erupts in Poughkeepsie
Gunfire erupted twice in Poughkeepsie Monday night, and two women were treated at the hospital for wounds.
The first report of shots fired happened just after 10 p.m. No one was injured, but the house at 48 Harrison St. was struck multiple times.
At around the same time, police heard multiple shots fired in the area of Kings Street Park.
Police say two women, ages 20 and 21, had been shot in their left legs. They were taken to a hospital, where their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
Police say they were taken there in a car that had at least four bullet holes in it.
Neither victim would cooperate with police, but authorities believe there were multiple witnesses to what occurred in the park.
Police didn’t say if the two incidents were related.
