Golfers in Westchester are able to tee off once again at two county-owned courses after the state eased guidelines.
County Executive George Latimer says opening Hudson Hills in Ossining and Mohansic in Yorktown Heights will test the balancing act between allowing people to enjoy the outdoors while also trying to stop the spread of coronavirus.
He believes those goals can be accomplished, but in order to do that, restrictions have been put into place like more time between tee times and shorter operating hours.
Other rules include flagsticks have to be left in the holes, untouched, and not gathering in groups.
“I don't think the spread of the coronavirus is going to be tipped by who goes to a golf course,” Latimer told News 12. “It’s much more likely to be tipped by people who live in apartment buildings and congested neighborhoods.”
