Two Wallkill police officers are being credited today for saving the life of a 22-year-old who threatened to jump from an overpass.
Police say that tense scene unfolded early Tuesday morning at the intersection of routes 32 and 17.
Auhorities say the man's family called in and said they were concerned about his mental state. When officers Alan Levine and Jeremy Warner arrived, they say they found the Wallkill man dangling from the overpass, and were able to talk him down after about 30 minutes.
Wallkill police said during a press conference today that the man saved was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
