A Yonkers church got a special addition today.
Two new stained glass windows have been added to St. Anthony's Parish in Yonkers.
The images on the two stained glass windows at the church, located on Nepperhan Avenue, depict Pope St John XXIII and Pope St. John Paul II who were canonized as saints in April.
Each panel highlights historical and spiritual moments in each of the saints' lives. The windows were installed a few weeks ago. It is believed that St Anthony's Parish is among the first in the nation to have these two popes immortalized in stained glass at the same time.
The windows will be blessed later this month at a special Mass.
