Police say residents of an apartment in Port Chester thwarted a home invasion Thursday by sitting on the armed suspect until help arrived.
Police say 24-year-old Ronald Miles knocked on an apartment door at 235 South Regent St. shortly after 1 a.m., pointed a gun in the face of a 21-year-old resident and demanded money.
According to investigators, Miles and the tenant started wrestling over the gun when the victim's relatives got involved in the fight. They managed to pry the loaded automatic pistol from Miles, held him down and called police.
Miles was charged with burglary, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon.
