2 people face charges for narcotics sales, illegal gun possession in Poughkeepsie

Two suspects are facing charges after being arrested for selling narcotics in Poughkeepsie and illegally possessing a gun.
The Dutchess County Drug Task Force says James Morris Jr., 51, was arrested Thursday after an investigation determined he had sold cocaine to the task force multiple times. He was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance.
Police say 43-year-old Jonette Drake was with Morris Jr. at the time of the arrest. She had a loaded, unregistered handgun with her. She was also arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Morris was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and sent to jail without bail. Drake was arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and was sent to jail on a $20,000 bail.
