Police say two people were hospitalized after a drunken driver caused a wrong-way crash Friday on the Saw Mill River Parkway.
Westchester County police say Tess Kegan, 22, was drunk and driving south on the northbound side of the parkway just after midnight when she crashed into another vehicle. The crash occurred just south of the Route 120 overpass in Chappaqua.
Police say a 40-year-old Connecticut man in the other vehicle was pinned in his Toyota and had to be extricated by emergency responders. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a broken leg, but is expected to recover.
Keegan suffered a minor head injury in the crash. She was charged with DWI and vehicular assault. She is due in court in New Castle Aug. 27.
Police shut down the northbound side of the parkway for hours while they investigated, but it has since fully reopened.
