Seventeen Westchester high school students and one from Ulster County have made the semi-finals of the prestigious Regeneron Science Talent Search.

They are among the top 300 scholars in the nation's oldest science and math competition for high school seniors.

Each scholar and their school will receive $2,000 for reaching the semi-finals.

The top 40 finalists will be announced on Jan. 23, and the winners will be announced on March 11.
