(AP) -- Details of the $142 billion budget plan New York's top state government leaders agreed to over the weekend are expected to be released.
Leaders in the Assembly and the Senate and Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced late Sunday night that they had reached a budget deal that includes a big boost in education funding. The spending plan that's due to be in place by Wednesday also includes enhanced ethics rules for legislators and several of Cuomo's proposed education reforms, which have been fiercely opposed by teacher unions.
The agreement includes $23.5 billion in school aid, an increase of $1.4 billion
The details of the budget plan are expected to be released Monday at the state Capitol, where the Senate and Assembly will start voting tomorrow on some portions of the budget.
