A Cornwall man is facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing a child under 13. State police say John Kyle B. Dizon had sexual contact with the minor in April of last year. Dizon was working as a City of Newburgh police officer at the time of arrest and as an officer at SUNY Albany at the time of the alleged incident. He's charged with predatory sexual assault against a child and rape among other charges.
And a man is recovering after being shot in the City of Poughkeepsie. It happened Sunday morning near Union Street. The city's PBA says the 27-year-old showed up to the hospital with a wound to the arm and chest. His injuries are not life-threatening.
