If you're walking around Armonk, you may have noticed heart sculptures placed in different areas.
They're part of the "Armonk Has Heart" collection.
"It adds a lot of color, a lot of spirit," says managing director of the Armonk Outdoor Art Show, Nancy Rosner.      The 12 fiberglass hearts are being displayed ahead of the art show next month.
"The idea about 'Armonk Has Heart' is that we do have a lot of heart in our community," says Rosner.
On Thursday, dozens came to admire them and hear music from kids from the School of Rock Bedford.
One artist talked with News 12 about their heart and the inspiration behind it.
"I wanted to show the town, and I incorporated my two dogs," says artist Carol Luz. "I wanted to show them, you know, shopping, having lunch, having fun."
Luz says her piece took about a month to create, and it means so much to her to see people admiring her art.
"I just saw a little boy. He just came over and he hugged the heart, which was so sweet," says Luz.
For another artist, who will have pieces shown at the art show, it's a time to bring the community together.
"I think everyone will find themselves in each of these hearts, but there's something for everybody, and it's just fun," says artist Liz Green.
The hearts will all be auctioned off to raise money for the North Castle Public Library.
The art show will be on Sept. 27 and 28.
