Police say one man was killed and another was injured during an overnight shooting in Middletown.
The shots rang out at around 4:30 a.m. on Prince Street, hitting two men multiple times, police say.
One of the victims, 25-year-old Robert Unterman, died at Orange Regional Medical Center. Police say he was hit twice in the back.
The other victim, a 26-year-old man, was rushed to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition with four gunshot wounds to the chest.
According to investigators, who were looking for evidence at the scene, some of the stray bullets hit buildings and cars, but the two men were the only victims.
A local resident, Sarah Simas, says the neighborhood where the shooting happened Saturday is not notorious for crime.
So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Middletown Police Department at 845-343-3151.
