One person is dead after being hit by a car in Chestnut Ridge.

It happened Saturday on Scotland hill Road.

Police say two men were loading their truck when another vehicle drove into them.     

They say 28-year-old Sean Spillman from Washingtonville and a 61-year-old also from Washingtonville were both taken to the hospital.

Spillman, who worked for the town of Ramapo, was later pronounced dead. According to a fundraising page for his family, he leaves behind a wife and two children.

News 12 is told the driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with police.     

There was no word if any charges could be filed in the case.
