Playgrounds are officially reopened in the city of Yonkers.
News 12 was at Welty Park Saturday, one of the 50 parks across the city that were being reopened as coronavirus restrictions imposed months ago were lifted.
There are rules that parkgoers must follow. Children older than 2 years old must wear face coverings, and playground capacity is capped at 10 people to maintain social distancing guidelines.
Visitors should also use hand sanitizer before and after using playground equipment.
The city says failure to follow the guidelines could result in the parks being closed once again.
Despite the rules, people who were out at Welty Park Saturday were glad about the reopening.
The city says all 50 playgrounds will be sanitized and disinfected each night.
