Members of the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation are joining forces with other agencies to provide relief for victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

Many people living in Yonkers have family in Puerto Rico so they want to do whatever is necessary to help. Some are still anxiously waiting to hear from loved ones.

"It's the uncertainty that's driving everyone crazy. It's the uncertainty that's driving the fear," says Luis Muniz, president of the Yonkers Hispanic Cultural Foundation.

Muniz says the damage in Puerto Rico needs to be assessed first, and then aid groups can connect with government officials to find out what is needed. 

"We don't know what their needs are until we have that conversation and take a look around," Muniz says.

He says plans are coming together to create drop-off areas and fundraisers.
