Yonkers actor and friend plead not guilty in murder of NYC officer
? Yonkers actor Lillo Brancato Jr. and his ex-girlfriend?s father Steve Armento pleaded not guilty Monday at arraignment in a Bronx court for the murder of a NYC police officer.
Both men are charged with second-degree murder, burglary and weapons possession. In addition, Armento is charged with first-degree murder for allegedly firing the deadly shot. Investigators say the men tried to rob a Bronx home in December for drugs when officer Daniel Enchautegui interrupted them. Enchautegui lived next door and shot and injured both suspects before he died.
Brancato and Armento are at a Rikers medical facility where doctors continue to treat them for those injuries. The suspects will appear in court again in March.
Brancato is best known for his role in the 1993 movie ?A Bronx Tale.?
