Westchester launches task force to prevent and eliminate gun violence

The county is still looking for members and taking recommendations from the Board of Legislators and the community.

Westchester is launching its "Gun Violence Prevention Task Force."
It aims to identify and implement best practices to prevent and ultimately eliminate gun violence from Westchester County.
The goal of the task force is to foster collaboration across all levels of government.
The county is still looking for members and taking recommendations from the Board of Legislators and the community.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, "We want to get a balanced group of people. We want folks that represent the different geographies of Westchester County. The different demographics of Westchester County."
At least 20 volunteers will make up the task force.
