Vet accused of falsifying records at equestrian center
During a probe of the River Ridge Equestrian Center in Eastchester, investigators found a veterinarian allegedly falsified records.
Dr. William Isomoto, of Long Island, was charged Wednesday with falsifying official records about animal vaccines. Investigators say Isomoto did not treat the animals on April 3, 2007, although he filed forms to the state indicating that he had.
A state probe further found two unlicensed veterinarians working at the center. Investigators say one of the unlicensed vets, who was found guilty of stealing and using animal narcotics in the past, conducted the procedures in question, instead of Isomoto.
The owners of River Ridge say they worked with Isomoto for many years and trusted him.
Meanwhile, there is an ongoing legal battle between the center and four horse owners. River Ridge says the county mandates that all horse owners sign a boarding agreement, but four refused. Center owners say those four horse owners are being evicted. Those being evicted accused the stable of safety and health violations and say that is why they are being kicked out.
