(11/22/07) WHITE PLAINS (AP) - A Mount Vernon teenager has been indicted on charges that he gunned down a security guard who was chasing him and other young people throwing eggs on Halloween.

The Westchester District Attorney says 18-year-old Nyanda Charley pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned on one count of second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He's charged with shooting 52-year-old Neville Webb. Webb was working at a security guard at the Oakwood Garden Apartments. The victim's wife, Cherry Webb told the Journal News that the case shows the need for stricter gun control. Charley is being held at the Westchester County jail in Valhalla. He faces 25 years to life in state prison. His next court date is Feb. 15th.
