Wake services were held at Sinatra Memorial Home today for the 1-year-old twins who died after being left in a hot car by their father.
Juan Rodriguez, 39, left Bronx criminal court on Tuesday with his 4-year-old son in his arms and his wife by his side.
The prosecution announced that no grand jury action had been reached, but charges could move forward.
The father from New City allegedly told police he dropped off his 4-year-old son at a Westchester day care last Friday morning, but forgot his 1-year-old twins, Luna and Phoenix, were in their rear-facing car seats.
He said he returned to his car eight hours later and started to drive away. According to police, Rodriguez drove for two blocks before discovering the children, foaming at the mouth and lifeless.
Rodriguez is facing several charges including manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
Rodriguez's lawyer is urging the Bronx District Attorney's Office to drop the case. He is due back in court on Aug. 27.
A private funeral will be held for the twins on Saturday.
