Orange County Korean War veteran dies after suffering stroke

An Orange County Korean War veteran is being remembered Friday after suffering a stroke and dying last week.           

Friends and family members say they are preparing to say their final goodbyes this weekend to 88-year-old John Gore.

Gore had suffered a stroke several months ago and died last week .

Gore had been a longtime News 12 viewer and had even been surprised by the News 12 team for his 86th birthday two years ago.

Visitation for Gore is being held Friday at Smith, Seaman and Quackenbush Funeral Home in Monroe.

His funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
