Chef's Quick Tip: Perfect cooked grains

This week, Chef Bill Hall of Roasted in Stamford, shows Tina Redwine how to cook any grain perfectly.

Cooked grains 
One part grains and two parts liquid. Season to taste. 
Bring two cups of water to a boil. ( any liquid of your choice may be used in place of water. )
Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon olive oil. ( oil or butter are optional but add a lot of flavor)
Once boiling, add 1 cup grains of your choice. (Rice, quinoa, barley, bulgar wheat...etc.) bring back to a boil. Stir.
Turn heat to the lowest setting, cover and let cook for twenty minutes.
After twenty minutes, remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
Flake with a fork and serve
Can be garnished with anything you enjoy. (Sun dried Cranberries, coconut, almonds, vegetables.)
