New Jerseyans wishing to fly coast-to-coast now have a new plane to choose from – Boeing’s “Dreamliner” series.

The “Dreamliner 787-10” plane arrived in New Jersey Monday. The plane is the biggest of the three Dreamliner planes and holds about 320 people – more than double that of a typical airline jet.

United Airlines say that the plane is 20 percent more fuel efficient, has newer technology, bigger windows and can ease the effects of jetlag. The Economy Plus and Premium seats also turn into beds for those long flights.

The first official flight flew from Los Angeles to Newark Liberty International Airport Monday.

Passengers aboard the flight told News 12 New Jersey that they did notice some improvements over previous cross-country flights, such as better lighting, better humidity and better cabin pressure.

The flights should expand to include San Francisco next month and international in March.

United Airlines could not tell News 12 how much the plane costs.
