The Long Island Music Hall of Fame has unveiled its 2018 class.
This year consists of a diverse group of musicians, DJs and business people with strong Long Island ties.
Among them are Long Island rock band Taking Back Sunday and Brentwood hip-hop group EPMD.
"Sometimes I feel like we get overlooked when it comes to musical talent," says Erick Sermon, of EPMD. "This music industry has a lot people from all over the place, but Long Island is very special."
"It's just such an honor to be a part of this," says Taking Back Sunday bassist Shaun Cooper. "To be inducted, to be recognized after so many years of hard work, so many years of ups and downs."
A red carpet gala for the inductees will be held Nov. 8.
Full induction class:
Taking Back Sunday
Melanie
Seymour Stein
Good Times Magazine
"Cousin" Brucie Morrow
E.P.M.D.
Elliot Murphy
Jon "Bowzer" Bauman
Jimmy Webb
Artie Kornfeld
Michael Lang
