Multiple workers at a Babylon catering hall say they went to the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning.
About nine employees at The Piermont say they felt sick while on the job Friday night, including bartender Greg Gubitosi.
Gubitosi and another employee were brought to Good Samaritan Hospital in Islip where Gubitosi was found to have a carbon monoxide level of 23. A level of 40 is lethal.
Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is often called the "silent killer."
A Piermont manager says the facility has nothing wrong with it and that a fire department visited Saturday morning.
A PR representative for The Piermont sent News 12 a statement saying, "The Standard Hospitality Group immediately worked to have the problem addressed and mitigated. As a follow up, earlier today local fire department officials, including the Fire Marshall and Fire chief visited the Piermont and ruled the venue safe and free of any carbon monoxide emissions."
Gubitosi says he's glad to see the company fix any issues so that he can get back to work when he feels better.
