Survivors of cardiac arrest reunited with FDNY and EMS responders Tuesday at the annual Second Chance ceremony in Red Hook.

The ceremony gave patients an opportunity to meet with the responders who saved them after going into cardiac arrest.

Michael Fenster, who suffered from cardiac arrest while running the Brooklyn Half Marathon last year, said he was happy to have the opportunity to thank those who helped him.

“It feels amazing, I feel great and I have all these guys to thank for it, and I just feel blessed,” Fenster said.

First responders said getting a thank you from a patient means the world.
