An SUV was totaled after smashing into a telephone pole and rolling over in Ossining Thursday night.

Police say the crash happened around 8 p.m. on North Highland Avenue between Cedar Lane and Cedar Lane Terrace.

Police say Devin Kelly, 35, told them he was heading north on North Highland Avenue when he fell asleep. They say they recovered a Xanax pill from the car.

Kelly was charged with possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs.
