New Jersey is often depicted in pop culture as a place young people long to move away from.

Recent surveys found that many people are moving out of the Garden State at a higher rate than they have in years.

News 12 New Jersey’s Brian Donohue says that he too once left New Jersey about 20 years ago in an effort to find himself. But he says that he eventually came back.

He says that what he learned about New Jersey is that it is a great place for a restless person to stay put and that the people who live in New Jersey represented a great cross-section of America.

He says that New Jersey is a great place to come back to after one leaves for a while.
