Make-A-Wish grants Yonkers boy a super dream

A Yonkers boy who is battling a rare disease was able to watch his dream turn into a reality Tuesday.

Donovan Simpson, 10, has always wanted to be a superhero in his own action movie. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Simpson is now Westchester's newest up-and-coming movie star. Shooting just wrapped on the new movie, which stars Simpson as the "Silver Ranger."

Simpson suffers from Friedreich's ataxia, a neurological disease that's progressively degenerative. He faces life-threatening complications every day. His father says Donovan has always been drawn to superheroes.

Superhero Simpson will make his red carpet debut in the "Silver Ranger" on May 21 at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Peekskill.
