Apparent family dispute ends in violence in Mt. Vernon

At least one man was injured in a shooting and the gunman is still on the loose in Mount Vernon Tuesday, according to unconfirmed reports.

The incident happened on Nuber Avenue off East 5th Street. Police have not released much information about the shooting, but sources say it does not appear to be gang-related.

Sources say the incident may have been a family dispute, which ended with one man shooting his own brother. The name and age of the victim have not been released.

Police are still investigating what sparked the violence. Investigators are still searching for the gunman.
