New Rochelle woman targeted by armed robbers

Police are on a manhunt looking for three suspects who they believe mugged a woman on Saturday.

Police received a call around 11 a.m. Saturday with reports of a mugging. Choppers were sent overhead and officers were on the ground looking for the suspects Saturday. Units from Pelham, Mount Vernon, the MTA and county police joined in the manhunt.

Police say at least one armed suspect approached a bank customer in her late 50s as she was leaving the Hudson City Savings Bank on Washington Avenue and 4th Street. New Rochelle Police are interviewing the victim and one eyewitness.

Some residents were surprised to hear of the event, while others say indents like Saturday?s mugging happen all over Westchester.

New Rochelle officials say that they are in the process of questioning someone, but they would not confirm if that person was a suspect.
