Three Linens-n-Things stores in Hudson Valley will be included in a mass closure of the chain?s stores to take place by the end of the summer.

Linens-n-Things announced on Friday that it will close 120 of its stores and file for bankruptcy as a result of the slowing economy. Shoppers at the Scarsdale store were surprised to hear that a big chain such as Linen-n-Things had to resort to mass closure.

?I know the furniture store down the street and the mom and pop stores were going out of business, but a store as big as this?? said Aida Ortiz.

The company assures its customers that the measure will not effect merchandise availability in its stores.

The Scarsdale store has already announced it will close in August.
