Family: Alleged stabbing was self-defense

Family members of a pregnant White Plains teenager who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death say she did so in self-defense.

Relatives of 17-year-old Brittany Myers say she did not mean for her boyfriend, Tiquan Maddox, to die, but he was allegedly attacking her and she tried to fend him off.

Myers' relatives say the couple - Maddox is the father of Myers' unborn child - had a tumultuous four-year relationship that often resulted in physical abuse.

Myers, who is charged with manslaughter, is being held at the Westchester County Jail. She is expected to be arraigned Monday.
