Truck slams into Greenburgh overpass

Another truck driver crashed into an overpass on the Hutchinson River Parkway Thursday night after following GPS directions, police say.

"The GPS doesn't necessarily account for these low overpasses, and [drivers] have to pay attention to the signs," says truck driver Ramiro Morales.

Transportation officials are conducting a study to determine why so many trucks end up on the parkways. Jim Greer, of the Westchester County Police Department, explains this phenomenon by pointing out to the fact that the majority of truck drivers are unfamiliar with the parkway system because they come from other states.
