Rockland car crashes blamed on snow

Saturday's combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain made for a slippery, dangerous drive on Rockland roads.

Several crashes that caused a lot of traffic and gridlock in the area are being blamed on the weather. Quite a few cars also skidded off the road due to slush and ice.

The conditions were something that many drivers said they did not prepare for.

DPW crews were expected to salt many of the roads in case temperatures drop overnight and icy conditions worsen.
