Volunteers provide free Thanksgiving meals
Volunteers in New Rochelle did their part to give back to the community this Thanksgiving.
Cooks at the Bethesda Baptist Church started preparing a Thanksgiving meal on Monday.
The free meal was open to the entire community. The meal included mac and cheese, stuffing, pies, 10 hams and 20 turkeys.
This is the third year that the church provided the meal. Last year, they fed more than 100 people.
Organizers say the goal is not only to feed the hungry and take care of the needy, but also to bring the community together. Volunteers also served takeout meals to the senior center across the street.
C-Town, Costco, and ShopRite of New Rochelle donated much of the food.
