A 57-year-old Washingtonville man was killed this morning after crashing his SUV.

New Windsor police say the accident happened along Route 9W near Forge Hill Road. They say the man was seen by other drivers hitting the guardrail repeatedly before going off the road and hitting a tree.

The crash and cause of death is under investigation, but police say it appears the man may have had a medical emergency.

The victim's identity has not been released yet.
