Some residents who visited Prospect Park on Sunday learned that there are certain rules in place for barbecuing.
Grilling is only allowed in certain areas as designated by the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.
Most families News 12 ran into did follow the guidelines set by the Parks Department, although one person did admit he had to be pointed in the right direction by patrol officers.
Brooklyn residents can log onto the department's website for a full list of designated barbecue areas in Prospect Park and parks across the borough.
