Officials encourage shopping locally
There's a movement in Westchester to keep shoppers offline and in local stores this holiday season.
This year, there's more to shopping locally then just receiving better customer service and finding unique items. It's about helping Westchester's economy.
The push to shop locally this year seems to be even greater, as sales tax revenue in the county is down $24 million.
"That's a big hit, and that's why we've had to do some of the budget cuts we've had in order not to raise taxes and make it even worse," says Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino.
