Police confirm identity of dead kayaker

Police have confirmed that the body pulled from the Hudson River near Poughkeepsie on Monday is missing kayaker Ian Jones.

Dutchess County authorities say Jones, a New York City photographer, and his girlfriend Tali Fruchtmann were kayaking over the weekend when their kayak flipped over. They say neither was wearing a life vest.

Fruchtmann, the daughter of Grammy Award-winning singer Annie Lennox, was rescued by a passing boater.

Autopsy results revealed no injuries or trauma to Jones' body, and the findings are consistent with drowning. The death is not considered suspicious and no charges will be filed.
