Police are investigating after 4-year-old Yonkers girl died Friday from injuries caused by a bullet wound to her face.
Makayla Manners reportedly shot herself with a semiautomatic gun found inside her apartment on Walnut Street Monday.
There have been conflicting stories about who was inside the apartment of the time of the shooting.
Off-camera, some neighbors told News 12 that the mother and boyfriend were fighting inside the apartment.
Family friends insist that Makayla was alone with her aunt. Those same friends claim that the gun did not belong to the mom and described her as a devoted mother.
Police say no charges have been filed in the toddler's death, but that the investigation is ongoing.
