Maher succeeded by Rumbold as Walden mayor

The village of Walden in Orange County said goodbye to its mayor today.

Brian Maher, who held the position for six years, handed the keys off to the village clerk at Town Hall this morning.

He'll be succeeded by Deputy Mayor Susan Rumbold.

During his time, Maher founded Walden's first youth employment program.

He also brought in $1.5 million in grant funds.

Maher plans to run for Montgomery town supervisor this fall.
