Yorktown residents on alert over bear scare

Residents in Yorktown are on the lookout after reports of bears spread through the area.

Police say no one in Yorktown has spotted a bear, but residents say they have seen bear tracks in the snow and bear droppings in their yards.

One resident says she is convinced a bear has been on her property because her bird feeder was broken.

Yorktown police are aware of the bear scare, but say there is little they can do. They have alerted residents and urged them to use common sense if they encounter a bear.
