Services held for Westchester police officer

Family, friends and colleagues gathered Thursday to say a final goodbye to a Westchester County police officer who died in his sleep.

Robert Kelly III, who recently retired, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday. Family and friends say he was a devoted fan of the Islanders, Dallas Cowboys and the Yankees. They say he lived each day to spread a little bit of the joy he had inside.

The 43-year-old was also a volunteer firefighter and a Eucharistic minister.

Officer Kelly will be buried at St. Denis Cemetery. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
