Popular bagel shop to close its doors

A staple of the Bay Plaza Shopping Center is closing its doors after being in business for 25 years.

The Bagel Cafe has been open since the late 1980s. It will now close because the landlord, Prestige Properties, is refusing to renew its lease.

Community members are outraged by the announcement. They say the spot was a wonderful part of the area and provided a good service to the community.

Charles Maselli, the cafe's owner says he will hold out for a few more days, hoping the landlord changes his mind.
