Bronx at the heart of Thanksgiving meals

Most of the ingredients for your Thanksgiving dinner will be coming right from the Bronx thanks to the Hunts Point Produce Market.

About 30 million pounds of produce will be distributed by the market today, making it the busiest day of the year.

Vendor Denise Goodman says broccaleaf is a popular vegetable this year. She says she will be doing three times the normal amount of business today.

Trucks are being loaded up with fruits and vegetables, and taken to supermarkets across the five boroughs.

As for the main event, turkey comes from the Hunts Point meat market nearby, putting the Bronx at the heart of everyone's holiday meal.
